John Foster
Of Mind and Heart
29 May - 24 June 2012
Free Entry
This exhibit will feature works variously inspired by media imagery, local history and the imagination. The artist has employed oil, acrylic, pencil, pastel and more to create portraiture, landscape and abstract work through which he conveys his thoughts and feelings.
Each piece represents a return to art in difficult times and may evoke hope or despair, agony or ecstasy, liberation or oppression, desire or frustration.
About John Foster
Essentially a self-taught local artist, John Foster has also enjoyed a brief introduction to oil painting at Chelsea College Of Art. He is a self-confessed free spirit, having lived in south London and on occasion travelled through North and East Africa, Western and Southern Europe, Turkey, the USA and Cuba throughout the last decade or more. John is now concerned with the therapeutic potential of viewing and producing artworks. His hope is to inspire others to create for the purpose of self expression and emotional wellbeing.
