LoNyLa presents Second Life A Play by Suet Lee Tan Sun, 2 Dec 2012, 11am-2.30pm Free event Please book online or call 02074079316
A live screening of a reading of British playwright Suet Lee Tan's "A Second Life", directed by Drayton Alexander Hiers, and broadcast live from Singapore as part of LoNyLa's Velocity Lab 2012, an international exchange of play and film scripts.
When Lawrence is paralyzed after a skiing accident, he slowly disconnects from real life and spends time in a virtual world instead. As he starts to build a new life - with a new woman - in the virtual world, his real wife must take drastic actions in order to get him back. But when she goes into the game herself, she sets off a chain of events that forces both of them to confront the truth about their marriage.
The actual reading will be taking place at the NYU Tisch Asia Black Box in Singapore, and the broadcast will be watched from London. There will be a live video-conference mixer between artists and audiences in Singapore and London before the reading, and a feedback session will take place after the reading. The London screening and feedback session is co-hosted by LoNyLa and Platform 65.
