Their poignant memories of depression, loneliness and suffering are explored by innovative fashion styling and engaging photography. This work is the culmination of an eight-month project, directed, styled and photographed by Camilla Seckin, and she has worked with handpicked artists to celebrate and share these women's stories with the public.
About Camilla Seckin
Camilla Seckin is a freelance stylist and sometimes photographer, who has been working in and amongst the fashion and creative industry for three years. During this time she has assisted with top stylist Zoe James for Muse magazine and her work has been recognised by both Elle Magazine and BBC Thread. Most recently she has styled and art directed 'Unravel' at the Woolfson & Tay Gallery.
After growing up in the leafy surrounds of Muswell Hill, she has since lived and worked in London, Brighton and Surrey, where she gained her MA in Fashion Promotion and Imaging from the University for Creative Arts.
Her work is inspired by textiles, fashion history, life writing and old photographs, and she regards 'Unravel' as the beginning of her research into women’s history in a fashion context.
